Dermal Fillers Are Now A Part Of Cosmetic Dentistry

By Dr. Anasinski

It is by the use of cosmetic dentistry that more and more people are achieving the white, beautiful smiles that have become an important part of the process of looking and feeling good. To compliment cosmetic dental procedures performed by your dentist, we provide dermal fillers to fill in creases and folds around your mouth and in your face or to fill out thin lips for accentuating your smile.

A dermal filler is a material that is injected into your face to plump up, re-contour or fill in an area, thus smoothing out wrinkles or filling out your lips. These treatments typically last anywhere from six to eighteen months.

Often referred to as “the liquid face lift,” dermal fillers are perfect compliments to cosmetic dentistry. One of the biggest advantages of receiving dermal fillers from us versus a plastic surgeon or other healthcare provider is that we are practiced in using local anesthesia whereas physicians and nurses typically apply topical anesthetics or ice to numb your skin before injecting the needle.

If you would like to eliminate or minimize wrinkles around your mouth, face, or increase your lip volume, dermal fillers can help to enhance and rejuvenate your appearance. It is made from hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body and helps maintain skin moisture and volume along with lubricating and cushioning joints. Since hyaluronic acid is lost during the aging process, replenishing this substance in your skin helps in reducing your wrinkles and giving you a youthful appearance.

Restylane®
Made from hyaluronic acid, this product is typically used when a patient has moderate facial lines or wrinkles.

Juvederm®
Also made from hyaluronic acid, this dermal filler is used for wrinkles and folds that are moderate to severe since this product comes in versions that can also be used to contour or lift your face.

If you are considering a “liquid face lift” to enhance and rejuvenate your appearance, we will be happy to help you obtain the results you desire.

Kind regards,

Dr. Anasinski
